Lita Rossana Ford (also known in the form of Lita Ford) is a British born American singer on guitar who took the lead for The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. They were noticed by their raunchy lyrics and punk-inspired style. The band was never able to the band to be an instant hit in the United States, however they did gain a fair amount of popularity in other countries, especially Japan. Ford's solo career in heavy metal proved successful following the band breakup. She began voice lessons, and then released her debut solo album , 'Out for Blood' followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge. Both albums failed to get much attention and Ford was largely absent from the rock world for a few years. Ford returned to the scene with her hit album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' both became huge hit songs. Unfortunately, her popularity was brief and she disappeared from the music industry for many decades. The resurgence of her career came with release of "Black" which came out in 1995 and "Wicked Wonderland" nearly fifteen years later. The album "Time Capsule" was released by her in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
