Lita Rossana Ford Also called Lita Ford is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist born in Britain. She played lead guitar in The Runaways, a hard-rock group made up of females in the late 1970s. Their punk rock music and rebellious lyrics got them recognized by the rock world. The band was not able to gain a lot of attention on the scene in their home country of the United States but earned huge popular internationally, especially in Japan. Ford's solo heavy metal career was successful after the 1979 group break-up. She began taking voice classes before releasing her debut album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin" at the Edge. Ford disappeared from rock for some time after the albums did not gain much popularity. The singer returned with her smashing hit album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a big hit, as were the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Unfortunately her popularity was only brief, and she went under the radar for a couple of years. Her return came when she released 'Black' in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland' almost 15 years later. "Time Capsule," her debut album "Time Capsule" was released by her in 2016. The singer was honored with The Certified Guitar Legend Award by the Guitar Player Magazine.
