Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford, as she's more commonly known, was an American-born British guitarist and singer who was the leader of the only female hard rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. Though the group didn't achieve much success in America, they were hugely popular in other countries. It was particularly true in Japan. Ford had a long and successful career as a heavy-metal solo performer after the band split from 1979. She began to take voice lessons before releasing her debut album "Out to Blood" which was followed by "Dancin" on the Edge. Ford was unable to achieve much with either album and disappeared from the world of rock for 10 years. Ford returned to the scene with her hit album 'Lita which was released in 1988. The lead song "Kiss Me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were big hits. Sadly, her fame was short-lived and she remained absent from the music industry for a number of years. In 1995, she dropped "Black" and fifteen years later , she released 'Wicked. The album she released was Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
