Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford, as she's most commonly referred to as, was an American-born British musician and vocalist who led the women-only hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. Although the band was not success on the scene in the United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. Following the split of the group in 1979 Ford began a successful solo career in heavy metal. She began voice lessons, and released her first solo album , 'Out for Blood' followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford went missing for several time from the scene after the two albums didn't draw any attention. In 1988, she came back to the music scene by releasing a dazzling album titled "Lita. The lead track "Kiss My Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were big hits. Unfortunately, her popularity was brief and she disappeared from the world of music for several years. In 1995, she dropped "Black" and fifteen years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. The most recent album "Time Capsule" was released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
