Lita Rossana Ford popularly known as Lita Ford is a British American guitarist vocalist and songwriter who played lead guitar in the all-girl hard rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their music and their rebellious lyrics allowed them to be noticed throughout the world of rock. The band did not enjoy much of a following within the United States. However, their popularity grew overseas especially in Japan. Ford embarked on a heavy-metal solo career after the band ended in 1979. After taking vocal lessons, she released her first self-titled album "Out for Blood" followed by "Dancin in the Edge". Ford's albums were not very popular and she went on hiatus for a few years. The smash-hit album "Lita" was launched by Ford in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a big hit, as were the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, the popularity of her career wasn't last long and after a few years she disappeared. The release of Black in 1995 followed by a fifteen-year delay for the album 'Wicked Wonderland. Her most recent album 'Time Capsule was launched in 2016. The singer was honored with The Certified Guitar Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.
