Lita Rossana Ford (also called Lita Ford, is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist born in Britain. She played lead guitar as a member of The Runaways, a hard-rock group made up of girls in late 1970s. Their punkish music and rebellious lyrics got them noticed by the rock community. Although the band did not make much progress in America but they enjoyed huge popularity overseas. This was especially true in Japan. The band broke up in 1979 Ford embarked upon a successful solo career in heavy metal. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' on the Edge, followed by her album Out for Blood. Ford vanished for some years from the music scene as the two albums failed to draw much attention. The year was 1988, when she released her hit album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly was a major hit, along with the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Unfortunately, the success of her career was not long-lasting and for several years she disappeared. Her re-emergence was with the releases of "Black" which came out in 1995 as well as "Wicked Wonderland", almost 15 years following. In 2016, she released her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
