Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to by the name Lita Ford) is a British born American guitar vocalist who played the lead for The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. They were noticed for their rebellious lyrics and punk-inspired style. It was not possible for the group to be an instant hit in the United States, however, they enjoyed a great deal of attention in other countries particularly Japan. Ford had a long and prosperous career as a heavy-metal solo musician after the group broke up together in 1979.
