Lita Rossana Ford, also known as Lita Ford is an American musician, singer and guitarist born in Britain. She was a lead guitarist as a member of The Runaways, a hard-rock group made up of girls from the 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and rebellious lyrics got them not only the attention of rock fans but also from the community. While the group did not have much success in the United States, they were hugely popular internationally. That was the case especially in Japan. Ford was able to enjoy a long and prosperous career as a solo heavy metal musician after the group broke up up in 1979. After taking vocal classes, Ford launched her first self-titled album "Out for Blood" followed by "Dancin on the Edge". Ford vanished for some decades from the world of music as the two albums failed to draw the attention they deserved. In 1988, she released her hit album "Lita". The single 'Kiss Me Deadly and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever' both became major hits. Unfortunately her success was short-lived and she was absent from the music industry for a few years. In 1995, she dropped "Black" and fifteen years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. The most recent album "Time Capsule," released in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
