Lita Rossana Ford (also known in the form of Lita Ford) is an British born American guitarist who was the lead of The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. They gained attention for their rebellious lyrics and punk-inspired fashion. The group failed to gain a lot of attention within The United States but earned huge recognition abroad, particularly in Japan. After the band split in 1979, Ford embarked upon a successful solo career in the world of heavy metal. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' on the Edge and was followed by the record Out for Blood. Her albums weren't very successful and she disappeared for a few years. In 1988, she returned to the world of music with a smashing album called 'Lita. Kiss Me Deadly was a major hit, along with the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. The success of her was brief and after a couple of years after, she went under the radar. Her return came when she released 'Black' in 1995. Then she released 'Wicked wonderland' nearly 15 years after. The album she released was Time Capsule in 2016. She was awarded The Certified Guitar Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.
