Lita Rossana Ford also known as Lita Ford as she is more commonly known as, was an American-born British musician and vocalist who led the women-only hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. While the group did not make much progress in America, they were hugely popular overseas. That was the case especially in Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career after the breakup from her band in 1979. After taking vocal classes, Ford launched her debut self-titled album "Out for Blood" and then "Dancin in the Edge". Ford disappeared from rock for some time after her albums didn't be a huge success. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' was released in 1989. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' as well as the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' were both big success. The popularity of her was short-lived, and she disappeared for several years. The resurgence of her career came with release of "Black" from 1995 as well as "Wicked Wonderland", almost fifteen years later. Her most recent album "Time Capsule" was released in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
