Lita Rossana Ford was born in the United Kingdom and was an American musician, singer, and music writer. In the latter part of the 70s, she was the guitarist in the hard rocking all-girl group The Runaways. Although the band was not success within their home country of the United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career after the breakup from her band in 1979. After taking voice lessons, Ford released her first self-titled album "Out for Blood" followed by "Dancin at the Edge". Ford disappeared for a few years from the music scene following the albums' failure to get the attention they deserved. The smash hit album "Lita" was released by Ford in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Unfortunately her success was short-lived and she was absent from the industry for several years. In 1995, she released 'Black' and 15 years later 'Wicked Wonderland. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
