Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford, as she's more commonly known as, was an American-born British musician and vocalist who was the leader of the only female hard rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The band was not able to gain a lot of attention in the United States but earned huge recognition abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career following the split from her band in 1979. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' On the Edge which was followed by her record Out for Blood. The two albums didn't receive much success and Ford disappeared out of the scene for a couple of years. It was 1988 when Ford released her smash album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly (single) and Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were her greatest hits. Unfortunately her success was short-lived and she disappeared from the music industry for a few years. The release of Black in 1995 was followed by 15-year wait for 'Wicked Wonderland. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
