Silk was born Silk was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Ilkay Silk is the child of Peter Silk, an academic as well as Anna Silk who is an actor, director and producer. She is also a playwright. Anna is awed by her mother's job and attending play rehearsals. Silk was a prominent character in numerous commercials while she was an infant. She earned her Bachelor of Arts was awarded to her by St. Thomas University, 1997. Her early theater experience includes at least two productions in collaboration with Theatre St. Thomas: Seven Menus and The Kitchen. Silk relocated to Toronto and moved to Los Angeles in the decade immediately following 1999. Seth Cooperman became her husband in 2007 when they met at an actor's' Workshop at Los Angeles. They were engaged in 2009 and were married in an official ceremony in December of that year. The 10th of April, 2011 the couple renewed their vows during a Jewish ceremony in Fredericton following her conversion to Judaism.
